Better lighting is the number one way to increase the perceived value of your photographic product. For this reason, it is important to have a strong handle on the techniques involved in being able to consistently produce great results time and time again. In this workshop, Wes Kroninger will show you everything he knows about getting great product lighting in the studio. Wes has photographed everything from portraits, weddings, and magazine covers to high-end beauty and automotive photography for fortune 500 companies. Many of the lighting principles that span the genres can be learned by simply learning to light a bottle. If you are new to photographic lighting, need to brush up on your lighting knowledge, or have ever wanted to dig into what it takes to do great beverage photography, then this workshop is for you.
Wes has been a lighting instructor for 14 years and has a knack for simplifying complex lighting information into easy-to-understand pieces by building upon a solid base of basic lighting knowledge. This class will start with simple one and two-light setups and move up to complicated setups and will also discuss compositing with lighting and using virtual environments.

-How to freeze motion for splashes and drips
-Selecting the best lighting tools for the job at hand

Wes’s bio:
Wes Kroninger is well known for his inventive editorial and beauty portraiture—cleanly lit images with a vitality and vibrancy that impacts viewers immediately. The fresh outlook Wes brings to every project has resulted in numerous awards for both him and his clients.
Wes has been a full-time photographer since 2003 and in that time his work has gained national exposure, in publications including Rolling Stone, Modern Salon, American Salon, Rangefinder, Studio Photography, Long Beach Magazine, After Capture, Professional Photo Magazine and a wide range of trade publications. He has worked with a broad range of commercial clients like Home Depot, Fruit of the Loom, Russell Athletics, Vanity Fair and AVEDA as well as numerous small business and beauty industry clients across the country. He also received an honorable mention in the prestigious Lucie Awards and has taken home gold ADDY awards in New Orleans and a silver ADDY in Panama City Florida.
In the photography industry, Wes has also been recognized for his work as an instructor, leading an extremely successful platform class at WPPI convention for 5 years. He has also been an educational speaker at Imaging USA, SPAC, SPI, SYNC, SYNC Sports and he also teaches a class on advertising photography at The Rocky Mountain School of Photography each year in Missoula, Montana. He also has been a guest speaker at numerous local photo chapters around the country.
Wes’ first book Lighting: Design Techniques for Digital Photographers, exploring the creative and technical aspects of photographic lighting is now on shelves. Wes has also been given the title of “Master of Light” by Rotolight for his use of LED lighting to bridge the gap between still photography and videography.
